SEVENTEENTH SUNDAY OF YEAR C:
29th July 2007
Fr Frank writes:
This weekend Fr Charles will be celebrating our Masses. I know that Fr Charles always enjoys his time here,
largely because he is made so welcome. I am confident that the generosity of your welcome will be great
again.
This weekend I am in Scotland celebrating the marriage of Mahri-Claire McGlynn and Gregory Beere, both from
well known parish families, at St Mungo's church in Glasgow. I am sure you will offer up special prayers
for Mahri-Claire and Greg as they begin this new phase in their life together. You can be assured of my prayers
as I celebrate Mass up in those foreign parts!
May our great and generous God fill you with every good gift.
Fr Frank

Sunday Smile:
After Mass on Sunday morning, a young boy suddenly announced to his mother, Mum, I've decided to
become a priest when I grow up.
That's fine with us, but what made you decide that?
Well, said the little boy, I have to come to Mass on Sunday anyway, and I think it will be more
fun to stand up and shout, than to sit and listen.
A boy was watching his uncle, a priest, write a sermon. How do you know what to say? He asked.
Why, God tells me.
Oh, then why do you keep crossing things out?
