THIRTY-FIRST SUNDAY OF YEAR C:
4th November 2007
Fr Frank writes:
Our Alpha course begins this evening at The Church of Our Saviour, Ashton Place, Chelmer Village. The course
may be based in Chelmer Village, but is open to all parishioners who would like to know more about the faith.
It has been jointly organised and will be jointly run by the Anglican/Free Church community at Our Saviour and
by our own Catholic parish. It's not too late to join - simply come along this evening at 6pm for some fun
and discovery. Even if you cannot attend the whole course, come along anyway.
Next Saturday the Anglia Singers are coming to St Augustine's to provide us with an evening of music
(and to raise funds for the parish and the children's hospice!). We are lucky to have them at St
Augustine's, so please encourage them, and make this a worthwhile event, by lending the concert your
support. Tickets are on sale after Mass, or pay at the door.
I shall be away on Child Protection business until Thursday - my thanks to Deacon Kevin and the Eucharistic
Ministers.
May our good and gracious God fill you with every blessing.

Sunday Smile:
Brittany (aged 4) had an earache and wanted a pain-killer. She tried in vain to take the lid off the bottle.
Seeing her frustration, her Mum explained it was a child-proof cap and she'd have to open it for her. Eyes
wide with wonder, the little girl asked, How does it know it's me?
