Fr Frank writes:

November is a sombre month - short gloomy days and long dark cold nights. It seems so appropriate that it should be the month in which we focus our prayers on the Holy Souls. On 2nd we celebrated All Souls Day and today we remember the War Dead at our Remembrance Sunday Masses. But this remembering isn't confined to these two days. During the whole of the month the Holy Souls are commemorated at the daily and Sunday Masses, and at St Augustine's the names of those you wish to be particularly prayed for are placed on the altar during Mass. As part of this observance, you will notice a longer pause in the Eucharistic Prayer at the point where we pray for all those who have died. This gives us an opportunity to remember and pray for the departed who are special to us.

May the souls of the faithful departed, rest in peace.

From Monday to Friday Deacon Kevin and I will be away - with the Deanery Clergy in Rome. Our thanks to the Eucharistic Ministers.

With every blessing.

Fr Frank
