THE BAPTISM OF THE LORD (YEAR A):
13th January 2008
Fr Frank writes:
I hope and pray that you all had the opportunity for physical and spiritual re-creation over the Christmas
and New Year period. On a personal note: thank you, once again, for your acts of kindness and generosity - for
the cards, gifts and record-breaking Christmas offering. You are truly wonderful people; may God bless you for
it.
The 'Buy a Chair' fund continues to grow - albeit at a slower rate. Owing to a good deal with a
local (Catholic) supplier and to your giving we will soon be able to enjoy a number of new chairs. To save
money, the old wooden chairs will be recovered and repaired - at a relatively low cost to us owing to the good
will of the son of a parishioner. If you would like to contribute a chair (perhaps in memory of a loved one),
you are still able to do so.
We have a new altar frontal at St Augustine's - I hope you like it. It's meant to complement the
colour of the new stained glass window!
With every blessing for 2008.

Two Eskimos sitting in a kayak were chilly, so they lit a fire in the craft. Unsurprisingly it sank,
proving, once again, that you can't have your kayak and heat it.
