Churches Together in Chelmsford cycle of prayer:
- Week beginning:
- 9th March: St Augustine's Catholic (Revv Frank J Jackson & Kevin
Lyons)
- 16th March: St John's Moulsham (Rev Keith Magee)
Parish News:
- Needed: Old Palm Crosses: Could you please let me have last year's Palm Crosses
sometime before Palm Sunday. These will be used to make the ash for next year's Ash Wednesday celebrations.
Many thanks. Fr Frank
- Thanks from Fr Charles: for all the prayers offered for the troubles in Kenya. Uganda has
been severely affected by the problems with no fuel getting through for 4 weeks resulting in double and
trebling of the price of other commodities. Things are a little easier now that rival political parties have
reached a power sharing agreement.
- St Augustine's Church Grounds: I would be interested to hear from any volunteer who
could spare an hour or so every couple of weeks to pick up litter from the church grounds and generally keep
the church garden and car park tidy. Unglamorous but essential work! Fr Frank.
- Coffee morning every Friday morning 10am - 12noon: at St Augustine's hosted by the
SVP. A good chance to sit and chat over tea/coffee and biscuits. All very welcome.
- Gift Aid boxes for April onwards: are now available for collection after Mass for all Gift
Aid subscribers.
- Believe - Reflections on the Creed: Fr Frank will be hosting a six-part series, based on a
DVD each week, exploring the treasures of our faith as expressed in the Nicene Creed. The DVDs are presented in
various locations including the Holy Land, Nicaea, Rome, Oxford, Cambridge and London and feature interviews
with prominent men and women of the faith and testimonies from lay people, including Cardinal Arinze, Jean
Vanier, Delia Smith, Fr Cantalmessa, Nicky Gumbel, Abbot of Worth, Archbishop Coleridge, Lord Alton and others.
The sessions will run on six consecutive Fridays from 7.30 - 8.30pm beginning on Friday 18th April and
concluding on Friday May 23rd. If you would like to take part in this inspiring course, please let Fr Frank
know.
- Easter Lilies: Each year we ask for special donations for Easter Lilies to decorate the
Church for our celebrations. If you would like to make a donation (a suggested donation of £3) in memory
of a deceased loved one, please place your offering in an envelope marked Easter Lilies and pass it to Cath
Lyons. Many thanks for your generosity.

From church notice boards/newsletters (honest!):
- Ladies, don't forget the rummage sale. It's a chance to get rid of those things not worth keeping
around the house. Bring your husbands.
- Remember in prayer the many who are sick of our parish.
