Parish News:
- Parish Annual Report: The time to prepare this is upon us once more. If you run anything
in the parish, or are responsible for some aspect of parish life, please get your entries to Chris Thompson (to
email click
here) by 8th June. We're trying to keep it simple this year - i.e. a Financial report plus a parish
directory. Please note the only information we need is the title of the organisation/area of responsibility,
the name and contact details of the responsible person and any significant news or developments which have
taken place this year.
- New Hall School Chapel Organ Grand Opening Recital: with Dame Gillian Weir on Saturday
14th June 7pm followed by drinks and canapés. Tickets £20 from the school. More info from 01245

- Catenians: The Catenian Association, a Catholic men's organisation which aims to
strengthen family life through friendship and faith, celebrates its centenary this year. There will be special
Masses at York Mister, Lichfield Cathedral and many Catholic Cathedrals around the world. They are also
sponsoring 1,500 Masses for vocations - including one at St Augustine's on 29th July (The Feast of SS Peter
& Paul). Many congratulations to all members of the Association, and many thanks too for all the good
things you do in and for the Church. Fr Frank.
- Christian aid Week: Together we have raised another huge amount, £3,813.31, for
Christian Aid to use to improve the lives of the desperately needy around the world. Already blankets, plastic
sheeting and barrels for rainwater are being supplied to the destitute through partner organisations (NEVER
governments) in Burma. Many thanks to all collectors and to Fr Frank for his unflagging support. Maureen
Henes.

thinking about a call to the Priesthood. Friday 6th June, 6.45pm (light supper at 7pm) - 9.30pm. A presentation
on some aspect of the Priesthood and discernment followed by questions, discussion and prayer. Please contact
Fr Joseph Silver by email or on

A little girl was diligently pounding away on her grandfather's word processor. She told him she was
writing a story. What's it about? He asked. I don't know, she replied. I
