Parish News:
- Many, many thanks: for all the good wishes, greetings and gifts as I celebrated my 60th.
Last Sunday I was both overwhelmed and humbled by the wonderful surprise at the end of the 9 o'clock Mass.
The chocs, champagne, cakes, lavender, rose, book and balloons were excellent gifts - thank you too for the
singing of 'happy birthday' and, by no means least, thank you for the VERY generous cheque. A special
thank you to Deacon Kevin for organising the collection, and for his kind words and prayers. You are lovely,
caring people and I feel so blessed and happy to be your priest. Thank you, one and all. Fr Frank.
- Lunch Club at New Hall: exists for the elderly and runs every Tuesday during term time
from 12 - 1.30pm. Lifts are provided to/from your home. If you are interested, please contact Joan Smith (tel.
440339) or have a word with Fr Frank.
- First Holy Communion Programme 2007/2008: As you can appreciate forward planning is
essential for the First Holy Communion Programme. Below are the guidelines for the programme commencing in the
autumn:
- That you are a practising Catholic (attending Mass on a weekly basis)
- That your child has been attending Mass in Springfield Parish for at least the past year.
- That your child is eligible (8 years of age by 31st August 2009)
If you have been attending another parish you need to obtain a letter of reference from the Parish
Priest.
This is a serious commitment by parents and children. If these guidelines can be met please arrange an
interview with Father Frank and pick up an enrolment form from the Presbytery. Please return all forms
to Fr Frank by 4th July 2008. If you have any problems please discuss them with me. Thank you. Fr
Frank.
- St John Payne School Fête, Sunday 15th June 2008: All welcome. Fun starts at 1pm
with the Mayor and Mayoress of Chelmsford in attendance. Dog Show, Fathers' Sack Race and Tug-of-War

all the family - not to be missed!
