Churches Together in Chelmsford cycle of prayer:
- Week beginning:
- 22nd June: All Saints, King's Road (Rev Michael Hall)
- 29th June: All Saints, Springfield (Revv Raymond Brown & John Mann)
Parish News:
- First Holy Communion Parents: Fr Frank thanks the first holy communion parents for their
gift of a goat. It is good to know that a community in a much poorer part of the world will be benefiting from
your generosity. May God bless you.
- Youth Group: the Youth Group meets on alternate Fridays during term and organises a range
of activities for young people from 10 upwards. One of our leaders will be moving on at the end of term and we
would like to find a replacement for next term. The Group is popular and useful, and we need to have enough
leaders to run it properly. If you can help, contact Chris Thompson on 469161 or by
email
- Help needed with the gardening at St Augustine's. We have someone to mow the lawn,
keep the hedges under control and pick up the litter etc. What we are short of is someone to do a spot of
weeding every now and then. Can you recognise a weed when you see one? Are you willing to offer to keep our
gardens tidy? If so, please have a word with Fr Frank.
- Marriage Care seeks Centre Manager: Marriage Care, a national Catholic organisation, is
seeking someone with management skills and about 5 hours a week available to fill the unpaid role of Centre
Manager. You will be working with professionally trained volunteers supporting marriage and family
relationships here in mid-Essex. Please see Fr Frank if you are interested.
- Oberammergau 2010 - time is running out!: We shall be making a pilgrimage to Bavaria in
August 2010. Because of the high demand for seats at the Passion Play in Oberammergau, which forms a central
part of the pilgrimage, we need to reserve seats this month. If you are interested and would like to find out
more, please contact me without delay - forms need to be in this week. Thank you, Fr Frank
- Parish Party food contributions!: There is a list at the back of Church of food needed to
cater for the Parish Party. Please sign up for whatever you would like to bring.
- I Believe course: will run at St Augustine's from 26th June at 10.30am (following tea
& coffee after morning Mass) for 6 weeks (ending on 31st July). All welcome. It would be helpful if you
could let Michael or Janet Hoare know on 01245 346900 if you are coming.
- Music at New Hall outside term time: the holiday period is almost upon us and we need to
think about music provision at the New Hall Mass. If you can help in any way - singing or playing a musical
instrument - please speak to Jacki Chester (464465)
- First Holy Communion Programme 2008/2009: Please pick up an enrolment form from the
Presbytery to be returned to me by 4th July 2008. Thank you. Fr Frank.

inspired, encouraged and resourced for this important part of parish life. More info from www.bcys.net/youcan or the youth office on 01277 265286, or

Sunday Smile:
A six-year old girl came home from school and said to her grandmother, Grandma, guess what? We learned
how to make babies today. Her grandmother gulped and said, That's interesting. How do you make
babies? It's simple, replied the girl, You just change 'y' to 'i' and add
'es'.
