- 12th April: St Luke's , Moulsham Lodge (Rev Carol Smith)
Parish News:
- Mass on Tuesday will be at 10.30am, followed by tea/coffee and social time. Everyone
welcome.
- SVP Quiz night: raised £597 after expenses, which will be sent to feed the poor
'lambs' in the Sudan. Sincere thanks to our marvellous parishioners and friends - from Springfield
SVP.
- Christian Aid Week 10-16 May 2009: Last May people in and around Chelmsford raised a
record-breaking sum of £45,000 for Christian Aid. Some of it provided relief in emergencies such as the
cyclone flooding in Burma. Most of it was available for long-term projects such as training Ghanaian villagers
to organise grants for local education, healthcare and transport. Please join our faithful team of collectors
in May: stop and think about the above facts, and you will see why helping makes such a difference. Many
thanks. Maureen Henes (tel. 469933)
- Time Team at New Hall: this special documentary is scheduled for transmission at 7.30pm on
Easter Monday 13 April. Do check the listings in case there is any alteration.
- The Augustinian: we are looking for articles for the next edition of our parish magazine.
If at all possible, submit your articles to me by email as a Word document. But anything gratefully received in
whatever format! Thank you, Fr Frank
- The Bishops' School Reading Club: is looking for more volunteers to listen to children
reading. The club runs from 8.30 to 9.00 each morning. You can volunteer for any number of mornings - I do
Thursday and Friday mornings, and find it most rewarding. Details from Mrs Forte in the school office, tel:
460107. Thank you, Fr Frank
- St Therese of Lisieux: The relics of St Therese are coming to England this year. The most
convenient stopping off point for Springfield is the Shrine of Our Lady at Walsingham, where they will be
displayed for veneration on Tuesday 6th October. If there is sufficient interest, we may be able to organise a
coach from St Augustine's. If you would like to go, please add your name to the list at the back of church.
Fr Frank
- New Hall School Open Day: A leading Catholic boarding and day school for boys and girls
aged 3 -18. Monday 4th May 9am - 12.30pm. Student-led tours throughout the morning and talks by the Principal
and current students at 10.30am and 11.30am followed by Equestrian Team Displays at 11.15am and 12.15pm. More
info from 01245 467588 or by
Email.
- Holy Week at Our Saviour (6th - 10th April): The church will be set up with displays and
prayer stations again this year and we hope to have the church open form 10am to 12 noon, 2 - 4pm and 7 - 9pm
each day. In order to do this we need two people to cover each slot. If you can help please let Fr Frank
know.
- Easter Lilies: Please give your offerings to Cath Lyons. Many thanks.
