SIXTEENTH SUNDAY OF YEAR B:
19th July 2009
Fr Frank writes:
Many thanks for all your cards, prayers and letters of support on the death of my father. He was a great man and will be
sorely missed.
Thank you too for your understanding and patience as I have had to take time off to be with my mother. Needless to say,
all missed Masses will be rescheduled.
I am pleased to announce that the Bishop has approved the proposed changes to Sunday Mass times. From Advent Sunday
(29th November 2009) the Chelmer Village Mass will be at 5pm on Saturday and the New Hall Mass will begin 15 minutes later
at 10.45am. The Mass at St Augustine's will remain unchanged. In making these alterations I have done my best to
consult all those who regularly attend the present 12noon Mass - if you have been missed out, my apologies.
May the God of all consolation fill you with every blessing.
Fr Frank

Sunday Smile:
It was Palm Sunday, and the family's six year old son was in bed with a bad dose of 'flu and had to miss Mass.
When the rest of the family returned home carrying palm branches, the little boy asked what they were for.
His mother explained, People held them over Jesus' head as He walked by.
Wouldn't you know it, the boy fumed, The one Sunday I don't go to church and Jesus turns up.
