TWENTY-EIGHTH SUNDAY OF YEAR B
11th October 2009
Fr Frank writes:
First of all let me record my thanks to all those who have 'gone the extra mile' during my recent absences.
Special thanks to my secretary, Rowena Redfern, and to Deacon Kevin.
Many thanks too to everyone who turned out to feed the 300 new student nurses who arrived at the University on Thursday
1st October, and to all those who contributed food, drink, paper plates, plastic knives, beakers etc. It appeared to be
touch-and-go at one point, but there was enough, and even a small amount left over which was donated to the kitchen in the
Chaplaincy Centre. It was hard work but great fun - very many thanks to all the volunteers. We have a parish to be proud
of!
May Our Lady of the Rosary pray for you, and may God richly bless you.

Sunday Smile:
Some genuine answers to RE questions (or so I'm assured!)
In the first book of the Bible, Guinesses, God got tired of creating the world so he took the Sabbath off.
Adam and Eve were created from an apple tree.
Noah's wife was Joan of Ark. Noah built the ark and the animals came in pears.
