On Tuesday we celebrate the beautiful Feast of The Presentation of the Lord (Also known as the Purification of the
Blessed Virgin Mary). Mass will be celebrated at St Augustine's at 10.30am that day. Please do come along if you are
able.
On Wednesday we celebrate the Memorial of St Anne Line (a local Martyr) but it is also St Blaise's Day, and,
following custom, throats will be blessed at the 7.30pm Mass.
May the God of peace fill you with His great gift of peace.

Parish News:
- Josie Everett RIP: Josie's Funeral Mass will take place in New Hall Chapel on Monday 8th
February at 12noon. May she rest in peace and rise to glory. Parishioners are warmly encouraged to attend. Please
continue to pray for the repose of Josie's soul; and for John, Jenny, Rosie and all the family.
- Henry & Cath & Nang McIntosh: would like to thank Fr Frank and Deacon Kevin for all their
help during Michael's illness and his Funeral. We also wish to thank Cath and the helpers for the excellent catering
and the parishioners for the many Mass Cards and condolences received. Holy Mass will be offered up in thanksgiving.
- Tuesday's Mass: THE FEAST OF THE PRESENTATION OF THE LORD, will be celebrated at 10.30am,
followed by tea/coffee and social time. Everyone welcome.
- Priest and People Revue, St John Payne School: A big thank you to all priests of the deanery and
beyond, and parishioners young and old who made Friday night so enjoyable and such a success. We raised over £1000
for HCPT and for the Jubilee celebration to be held at school on 26th June where we hope to see you all once again! Des

- Catenian Association - Membership Invitation: Do you wish to extend your Catholic circle of friends
by meeting regularly over a meal with other practising Catholic laymen? Catenians meet over dinner, organise varied
social events which involve wives and families, provide support in times of difficulty or need, give to charitable funds
and local causes and hold a number of masses. For further details on the Catenian Association, which has over 10,000

- The Really Really Wild Show, Half Term holiday club: at Church of Our Saviour, Feb 15th to 21st for
children aged 5 to 11 years. Registration 10am - 12noon Monday, club runs 9.45am - 12.30pm Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri with a
family service at Church of Our Saviour at 10am on Sunday 21st February. Cost £3 per day or £10 for the week.

- Quiz night in aid of SVP: at 7.15pm on Saturday 6th March at St Augustine's Church Hall. Tickets

- Run for a Child - Charity 5K Run, 11am Sunday 21st February 2010: The Brentwood Catholic
Children's Society are looking for individuals to represent the parish in this 5K charity run at Westley Heights
Country Park, Basildon, with the support of Pitsea Running Club. All runners MUST be pre-registered and under 16s must be
accompanied by and adult. Do something amazing and help us continue our work supporting children and families in the

- Centenary Celebrations - Sacred Heart Church, Southend-on-Sea: a Solemn Mass presided over by Bishop
Thomas will be held on Thursday 18th February at 7.30pm. Everyone welcome.
- Understanding Priesthood: Sharing In The Priesthood Of Christ. An Ecumenical Study Day on this theme
will be given Fr John Farrell OP, Provincial of the English Dominicans, on Saturday 20th February at Brentwood Cathedral

- Lighthouse Centre Service of Remembrance: at 3pm on 7th February at Holy Trinity Church, Trinity
Road, Chelmsford. The purpose of this service is to give men and women who have suffered the loss of a baby, either
before or shortly after birth, for whatever reason, either recently or some time ago, the opportunity to remember in a
sensitive and healing atmosphere. All are welcome whether or not they attend church. More info from 01245 494838.
