FIFTH SUNDAY OF YEAR C:
6/7th February 2010
Fr Frank writes:
We continue our series of meditations on 'Home is a Holy Place':
"…fulfilling their conjugal and family role…spouses are penetrated with the spirit of Christ and
their whole life is suffused by faith, hope and charity. Thus they increasingly further their own perfection and their
mutual sanctification, and together they render glory to God." (Gaudium et Spes § 48)

The Funeral Mass for Josie Everett will take place in New Hall Chapel at 12noon tomorrow. I have scheduled no other
Masses that day knowing that as many as possible will want to attend Josie's Funeral Mass. Josie and her family are so
well known in our parish, I am sure that, if you can, you will be there. May she rest in peace.
Deacon Kevin is away on retreat this week. We wish him much spiritual refreshment and rest.
May God richly bless you all.

Sunday Smile:
A linguistics professor was lecturing to his class one day. In English, he said, a double negative forms a
positive. In some languages though, such as Russian, a double negative is still a negative. However, he pointed out, there
is no language wherein a double positive can form a negative.
A voice from the back of the room piped up, Yeah, Right.
