PENTECOST SUNDAY: (Readings from YEAR A):
22nd/23rd May 2010
Fr Frank writes:
Today we celebrate the great feast of Pentecost; the end of the 50 days of Easter and the day on which we celebrate the
beginning of a new era, the era of the Church. My thanks, in advance, for all those who will be reading at today's
Masses. I know that, by the time you read this, we will have heard readings in French, German and Mandarin.
You will be interested to hear that approval has been given for the Third Edition of the new English language Missal. I
am currently awaiting more information about publishing dates and the time schedule for the implementation of the new
translation (this will be determined by the Bishops' Conference for England and Wales). But rest assured, before we
begin to use it at our Masses there will be plenty of time to study it and familiarise ourselves with the new text.
With every blessing,
Father Frank

Sunday Smile:
Fr Bill parked his car in a no-parking zone because he was short of time. He put a note under the windscreen wiper:
I have circled the block 10 times. If I don't park here, I'll miss my appointment. Forgive us our
trespasses.
On returning he found a parking ticket with this note from the traffic warden: If I don't give you a ticket
I'll lose my job. Lead us not into temptation.
